Wellness in the Workplace

American workers across the board saw heightened rates of burnout in 2021. Nearly 3 in 5 employees reported negative impacts of work-related stress, including lack of interest, motivation, or energy (26%) and lack of effort at work (19%). Meanwhile, 36% reported cognitive weariness, 32% reported emotional exhaustion, and an astounding 44% reported physical fatigue (APA Work and Well-being Survey, 2021).

 Well-being has been described as the presence or absence of affect (happy vs depressed), based on how we perceive our quality of life (current vs envisioned life) or objectively (safety, security, stamina) (Carmack, 2014). It may also be defined as a state of happiness. Happy employees are better employees, increasing productivity to 10-20%.  


Team Well-being Workshop

We will collaborate on themes or topics that align with your company's values. The workshop will cover health and wellness benefits, burnout and compassion fatigue prevention, stress management, as well as, practicing mindful yoga breaks. It is intended to facilitate interpersonal communication (how you view yourself), interpersonal communication (how you relate with family, friends, co-workers), and intercultural communication (how you utilize skills and talents). Well-being happens when you have an integration of all of them (Carmack, 2014). Movement vs Sitting

Just 10 minutes of movement in a day can be beneficial to our health and well-being. 

The statistics speak to us. Too much sitting causes poor health. A study found that people who sit the most, compared to people who sit the least have 147% increased risk of cardiovascular events like a heart attack or stroke, and 112% increased risk of diabetes. It is dubbed the "sitting epidemic".  Standing for extended periods is not much different because it contributes to poor back health and fatigue.​


What to do? Any type of movement that gets the heart going and blood flowing can improve our well-being. Stanford researchers found a 60% increase in creativity when walking instead of sitting. Exercise improves stress response, mental clarity and brain health.


There is conclusive evidence that even one session of yoga per week brings about changes in employee behavior by helping them manage stress better, enhance clarity and creative thinking, improve communication skills, cultivate leadership and teamwork, and increase overall effectiveness in the workplace (Corporate Wellness Magazine).
